Image
Ilocos Sur is a beautiful province located in the Northen part of Luzon. It is a province rich in culture that represents the ancient Spanish and Filipino heritage. To show and share their treasures to the whole world, the locals conceived a festival that highlights these cultural traditions and they called it the "Kannawidan Festival".        This festival at the end of January celebrates the best of Ilocos Sur culture, from tradition dress and folk dance to tribal rituals and marching band contests. A food festival is also held at Plaza Salcedo. There is fireworks display after the meal, lighting up the sky with a million colorful specks and flashes.     One interesting event of the festival is the annual "pinaka" contest where locals exhibit their amazing farm and fishery products and livestock. Anotheer activity that catches the attention of the visitors is the gathering at Vigan Plaza Hotel, where Ilocos Sur comes ba...

Time for change!

Image
Everyone is talking about change, change, change, and change. Everyday is significant as another day come and witness a change, it starts from our home, society, country and associate country. All of us are desiring a change that makes our world better.          As we want that change appeasable, let's start it to ourselves. Maybe you questioned yourself how to start it but if you have a matured and taught process mind, it is easily to do. First, is having a discipline this is the most important characteristics of yours that you should have. Second, has a nationalistic heart to                       make the change essential. And third don't forget that                   every change we make there is Him who always guided us every time.        As I always saying, change is not always...

Vigan City is conducting many activities this January. Vigan is an island, which used  to be detached from the mainland by three rivers - the great Abra River, the Mestizo River and the Govantes River. It is unique among the Philippines towns because it is the country's most extensive and only surviving historic city that dates back to the 16th century Spanish colonial period.         As a compensation, we are celebrating Vigan City Fiesta that is honour to St. Paul the Apostle, the city's patron saint,on January 25 each year. Locals and tourists gather to experience and see the street dancing, carnivals, food fairs, and arts and crafts, adding to the attraction of this UNESCO World Heritage City.         Cross reference of this activity is the Kannawidan Ylocos Festival , this festival at the end of January celebrates the best of Ilocos Sur culture, from tradition dress and folk dance to trib...

New year, new me!

Image
New year, new hope, new chance to change for a better you. New year, new me! each new year offers an exciting opportunity for a fresh start and new beginning, which is probably why we all look forward for New Year's eve so much.         State it or not, new years's resolution is the long awaited part of celebrating new year. I am incredulous on this tradition, changing your self is not depends on what you've wrote on the piece of paper or what. The truth is, we can change ourselves every time we live life.         Otherwise, when I have a chance to make my own New Year's resolution, I would write this; more self love, improve correlation with God, stay humble, study hard and be a better person.            Learn from yesterday, live for tomorrow, hope for today. Change is not bad because you life does not get better by chance, its...
